Functions of the components of prokaryotes:

Nucleoid Region:
-Contains the DNA
-Directs the production of proteins within the cell

-Translates the mRNA into a protein (sequence of amino acids)

Cell Wall:
-Protects the Cell
-Helps to maintain cell shape

-Furthur protection for the cell
-Helps the prokaryote to stick to surfaces

Plasma Membrane
-Reglates the transfer of componds in and out of the cell

-Help the cell to attach to surfaces

Prokaryotic Flagella:
Propel the prokaryote through its liquid environment
